Making Computer Games Edge Compatible
Gamers are very demanding in their QoE (Quality of Experience) expectations. Ping delays, FPS levels and FPS stability are crucial in determining the user experience. Powerful hardware (CPU and graphics card) is needed to achieve this; however, not all users have this resource, especially when they are mobile. In this picture, Edge Computing can offer effective solutions in which part of the game software gets executed in nearby edge servers.
In this project, computer games will be analyzed at the source code level to decide parts that deserve to be offloaded to an edge system. An edge compatible version of the games will be sought, their performances will be shown using simulation and/or actual device experiments.
