This guide has been produced by the Information Commissioner to assist with Data Protection Compliance Auditing.

The guide has been structured so that you can easily work through the contents, whatever your experience of compliance auditing. Background information can be found within the foreword and introduction. There is a Beginner's Guide to Data Protection Auditing as well as sections explaining what a Data Protection Audit is and why audits are necessary. There is also a useful section on the Step-by-Step Process for compliance auditing. Cross-references feature throughout the Guide and these can be followed from section to section.
